SAN DIEGO (September 22, 2014) – Regarding the City Council’s support for Councilmember Alvarez’s resolution for the City to develop and adopt a Climate Action Plan, which outlines strategies to meet greenhouse gas reduction goals, Alvarez made the following statement:
“I proposed this Council resolution because it is imperative that we, as a City, move forward together to address climate change. We’ve reached a tipping point on how climate change is altering our environment, but we’ve also reached a tipping point where the public demands action. The time for denial is over. This City Council stands strong in making San Diego a leader in actively addressing this issue now and into the future.”
