Allocation of Council District 8 Arts, Culture and Community Festivals (ACCF) with Discretionary Transient Occupancy Tax [TOT] funding for the Mariachi Scholarship Foundation

I am pleased to allocate $3,000 of my Council Office’s Fiscal Year 2018 Discretionary TOT funds to support the Mariachi Scholarship Foundation.

The funding would support an Organizational Support Program for the 2017 San Diego International Mariachi Summit. This event unites mariachi performers and educators for a series of concerts, student workshops and public forums to advance mariachi music and education.

I respectfully request that a total of $3,000 be transferred from Council District 8 TOT Fund: 2000205, Cost Center: 1414111219, GL: 512059 and be used to augment the existing contract between the City and the Mariachi Scholarship Foundation.
