Nomination of Johnny Swanson to the Park and Recreation Board

I am pleased to nominate Jonathan (Johnny) Swanson to theCity of San Diego’s Park and Recreation Board.

 Johnny is an Organizer and Political Coordinator ofIronworkers Local 229.  He is a strong advocate for the Ironworkers and is passionate and enthusiastic for the causes they are involved in.

 As a lifelong resident of District 8, Johnny is passionate and proactive about helping his community.  He has spearheaded and organized district identity and beautification causes and events. He attends and provides valuable input at his local Planning Group meetings.

 Mr. Swanson has consistently been very engaged with the community, especially in District 8. Recently, he was instrumental in organizing a local diaper drive in SanDiego which resulted in over 70,000 diapers collected for needy families.

I strongly recommend his appointment to the Park and Recreation Board.
